Villa Hanou - Karavados - Kefalonia

St Thomas Beach
St Thomas Beach – 2.6 km - 6 min drive
The beach itself is quite small and there are two tavernas there. It can be quiet and is popular with locals. Surrounded by cliffs, it has a gentle sloping seabed and water that resembles blue glass.

Trapezaki Beach
Situated 3km, 9 mins from the villa. The next beach east of St. Thomas. The beach is natural and long and can be quiet at times. The gently shelving beach is ideal for children and the sea is crystal clear. There is a lovely beach side taverna which caters for all tastes.

Lourdas Beach
Situated 4km 9 mins from the Villa, the next beach east of Trapezaki. You are sure to find a quiet spot somewhere along this kilometer-long beach, even in the height of summer. The sea is quite steeply shelving so that the waves come crashing ashore with a great white surf.

Ammes Beach
Situated next to the airport, which can provide the added spectacle of landing aircraft! A beautiful sandy beach, however, the waves can sometimes get quite big on windy days.

Ai Helis
The next beach east of Ammes, beautiful sandy beach with dark sand set in a natural bay. Perfect for sunbathing, swimming and snorkelling and there is a volleyball pitch.

Avithos Beach
A very long, sandy and relatively quiet beach with extremely gently shelving waters which are ideal for swimming and snorkelling. It also commands excellent views over the islet of Dias with its solitary white chapel. There are two tavernas, both of which serve excellent food.

Makris Gialos
A busy beach in the resort of Lassi which has a massive beach bar and sunbed waiter service plus a full range of water sports facilities such as water-skiing, windsurfing, parasailing, scuba diving, etc.

Myrtos Beach
This is one of the most photographed beaches in the world but is a long drive away up the North Western coastal road. Although beautiful to look at from above, Myrtos is pebbly and the sea has a steep shelf as well as strong undercurrents so is only recommended for very strong swimmers. That said, Myrtos is a firm favourite with many tourists.

Antisamos Beach
Situated near Sami on the east coast of the island and is where the majority of Captain Corelli’s Mandolin was filmed. It is another stunningly beautiful beach but has pebbles rather than sand, however this makes the water crystal clear and lovely to swim in. Some great tavernas, and watersport facilities.

Gradakia Beach
Soft grey sand with shallow beach which is ideal for children and adults alike. There is a lovely restaurant above the the beach.

Petani Beach
Beautiful beach with white pebbles & clear water, there are several tavernas around the beach. You can either get the ferry from Argostoli to Lixouri 25 mins or drive around the the top of the island about 75 mins.

Emplisi Beach
Nice small beach near Fiskardo, beautiful, with crystal clear waters and excellent snorkelling. Very easy access, nice little snack bar, and incredible views all around, you will need to take the umbrellas and chairs from the villa.
There are so many beautiful beaches all around the island and these are just a few for you to explore
